3. Jerusalem over the city and the place from where jesus ascended back to heaven. We Enter the Heart of Jerusalem Via Dolorosa, "the Way of the Cross." Church of St. Anne, birthplace of Mary, the mother of Jesus, Pool of Bethesda (John 5: 1-31) Ecce Homo Arch - Pontius Pilate uttered the words "Behold the man!" after Christ's scourging (John 19:5). Cconcludes with a precious time of worship at the Garden Tomb, possible site of the garden of Joseph of Arimathe a place of the skull".
4. More to See in Jerusalem, the ancient Hulda Steps believed taken by Jesus up to the Temple Mount, Western Wall, retaining wall, Temple built by Herod the Great in 20 B.C. Mt. Zion in the Upper Room, Jerusalem: Archaeological Garden (Ophel and Davidson Center) Jewish Quarter, modern buildings tower over excavations that date to the Judean monarchy, brings to mind Amos 9:14, "I will bring back my exiled people Israel; Valley of Elah, where David defeated Goliath (I Samuel 17).
5. Mediterranean coast - beautiful city of Caesarea, that Cornelius became the first Gentile convert (Acts 10) and Paul was imprisoned, Jezreel valley from the heights of Mount Carmel, Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18). Nazareth, Jesus' boyhood home (Matthew 2:23), Cana where Jesus performed his first public miracle and turned the water into wine (John 2:1-11).
6. Northern Israel through the Judean Wilderness via the Good Samaritan Road where we will pass through "The Valley of the Shadow." St. George's Monastery, the tranquil Mount of Beatitudes overlooking the Sea of Galilee, Sermon on the Mount Capernaum, the center of Jesus' ministry in the Galilee, visit the remains of the ancient synagogue that stands on the site where He taught. We'll cross the waters of the Sea of Galilee aboard a Kinnereth Sailing Company boat and enjoy a wonderful on board worship service. A special St. Peter's Fish lunch awaits us at the Ein Gev kibbutz. Our final stop is at the Jordan River's Yardenit Baptismal site for a time of spiritual renewal.
7. Leisure Day with Optional Masada and Dead Sea Tour Explore on your own or visit Masada (additional charge), Herod's spectacular mountaintop fortress. Ride the cable car to the top and actually see the remains of the Roman camps and siege ramp below. Time permitting, there will be a brief stop at the shores of the Dead Sea for a quick dip in the salt and mineral laden waters.
8. Israel Museum to view the famous Dead Sea Scrolls, Knesset building, where the Israeli parliament meets, Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial, Old City to the Cardo, an ancient marketplace with ruins that date back to the Judean monarchy among modern shops.
