About Mama Akosuah Sumney

Mama Akosuah Salome Sumney is the International Operations Manager and Special Assistant to the visionary of Mission Africa Incorporated. She has given priority to developing the MA2K through a comprehensive programme of organizational design by; strengthening the Organization's work in the areas of recruitment, continued expansion of the organization's development and the maintenance of international relations. She has also taken a leading role in mobilizing the international community to travel outside their borders, get involve with the organization through the short- term missions to Africa for humanitarian work, missions and business.

EDUCATION: Mama AKosuah Sumney is pursuing a Doctorate in Education (Ed. D). She holds a Master of Arts in Management and Leadership, a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management and an Associate Degree in Elementary Education. She also holds an Associate of Theology Degree in Biblical Studies and a Certificate in high fashion and designing.

Mama Sumney is broadly experienced human resource professional with solid skills in HR administration, multi country and site supervision, policy and procedure development, traditional and electronic recruiting, hiring, training, employee relations, corporate communications and contract management. She is a proactive manager with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills who is able to reach CEOs, Managers and Grass root people. She is a motivational leader and speaker combined with an innate ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. WORK AND MINISTRY: A Practical Believers International Ministries was planted in Accra the capital city. A computer school for 150 young people to be trained for employment was also established. From 2000 – 2009, Mrs. Sumney has recruited over 700 missionaries, philanthropist and businesses people to travel to Africa. She has recruited from Universities like Azusa Pacific University, Jackson State University, Cal State San Bernardino and many organizations like the Lions Club, God's Woman Conferences and many churches like Loveland Church. She has teamed up with her husband to organize on -going Mission Africa prayer conference in collaboration with the Parliament Congress of Ghana; a collaboration between my organization and the Congress of Ghana for the past five years She has held senior positions in diverse range of areas, including human resources supervisor, human resources management, International Operations Manager and special assistant to the Mission Africa Inc. visionary. She has assisted in the building of churches under the name of Practical Believers International ministries and helped written books with the visionary. She has three children with her husband who are growing up in the ministry. Salome has also worked for the County of Riverside human resources department and Moreno Valley School District as elementary and high school teacher in California, USA.

BEGINING OF A GREAT VISION: The Lord opened a mission's arm in the ministry called ‘'Mission Africa Incorporated'' with a goal to build global partnerships to offer humanitarian assistant to the Continent of Africa. She was appointed as the Human Resources Supervisor to organize and develop the grassroots work of this non- profit organization to bridge the gap between African Americans, Other Americans and other nationalities to partner with a single goal to preach the gospel and offer humanitarian services to the poor. She immediately formed the ‘'Bridging the Gap'' banquet and conference to network with different churches, organizations, universities and friends to raise funds to build schools for the poor in Africa since elementary school students pay school fees in Africa. This conference became very successful. She also started the Short- Term Missions and recruited missionaries, philanthropist and businesses to travel to Ghana Africa with the organization in 2000. The first years' recruitment was very successful and fifty seven (57) Americans with different backgrounds; African Americans, Mexicans, Native Americans & other nationalities joined on this trip for an open air crusade, church planting, and business networking.

TRAVELS AND MINISTRY: Mrs. Sumney met her husband in 1982 and joined him as they travelled the world in the beginning of their call to missions to Nigeria, Germany, France and Canada. She took certificate classes in High Fashion and Designing in France and Canada to enable her work in Canada due to language barrier which did not permit her to use her teaching credentials. They moved to the USA in 1989 to attend Bible College due to the call on their lives. In 1994, she and her husband started a ministry in San Bernardino California called United Practical Believers in Christ (planting Practical Believers International Ministries around the globe).

EARLY YEARS: Born in Ghana, Mrs. Sumney attended the Presbyterian Teachers Training College at Kibi and became a certified teacher in Ghana for three years. She later received an appointment from Christian Council of Nigeria Schools where she taught as a teacher at the Festac Village branch and a strong member and secretary for the school board.
